The American Institute Of Diamond Cutting is the only diamond cutting training school in the entire United
States. It's licensed by the Florida Department of Education to teach diamond cutting and rough diamond grading

The American Institute of Diamond Cutting, located in Deerfield Beach, Florida, accepts applications from
interested parties by mail. Enrollment fees and tuition varies by program. The rough diamond grading program has
fees of $150 and tuition of $3,500. The diamond manufacturing and equipment program has a tuition cost of $5,000
with inclusive fees of $500. The diamond business management and marketing program has tuition of $3,500 and
inclusive enrollment fees of $500. The fancy colored diamond program has enrollment fees of $150 and a tuition cost
of $2,500.
In addition to the programs the American Institute of Diamond Cutting offers it also features an in-house rough
diamond cutting service. The institute manufactures and custom designs cuts to rough diamonds and can be consulted
on any work that's required by customers. All received diamonds go through strict procedures, including weightings,
analysis and a consultation.
All students at the American Institute of Diamond Cutting also have large stores of information, research and
photographs at their disposal. The Institute keeps records going back twenty years. Recently, the Institute began
releasing some of its publications and materials to the diamond industry as well as the public, although most of it
remains available only to currently enrolled students. A few current publications are available for purchase on the
Institute's web page, including a field guide to rough diamonds and information on diamond cutting and colored
diamonds.
The American Institute of Diamond Cutting was founded by an accomplished diamond cutter, Nizam Peters, in 1980.
Today the Institute is recognized internationally and continues to provide a quality education to students from
around the world. Current instructors include Stephen Hofer, instructor in the Fancy Colored Diamond Program. Hofer
has been in the field of colored diamonds since the very early 80's and has had accomplishments such as examining
the Hope blue diamond, publishing a seven-year study and speaking at the 1981 International Gemological Symposium
in Los Angeles. Also at the American Institute of Diamond Cutting is Svetlana Frank, a fancy color specialist and
diamond cutter and Leslie Peters, a diamond cutter and rough specialist.
